Sentence per picture sort of

Okay running super behind and am home sick, so you get a sentencish per picture.

Maybe too big to get on some of the equipment, but never too old.  He said, "Mom, I really miss recess."  6th grade has been a hard transition, especially when maturity wise he's still not totally on par with the other kids in his grade.

Three runs done.  Not much mileage thanks to my crazy weekend, but still running.   My new work out coach was asking what I was training for and while I do miss it a little, I sure am enjoying getting what I get when I get it and not worrying about how much.

Okay these loaded all out of order, but here is the gist of my weekend.  I wanted to go to KC and go to as many breweries as my liver could handle.  I hit up one of my good friends and she opened her home and her car and off we went.  She even took me to a Mexican coffee shop the next day where I had the best empanadas I have ever had and some spicy mocha goodness.

Pathlight brewery.  Our last stop.  We played games and had fun with her neighborhood friends.  It feels so good to just be welcomed in like I was part of their group.  The Mexican food truck parked outside had some amazing food as well.  I wanted to try lots of beers so mainly stayed away from my heavy stouts and porters that I usually love.  I honestly don't remember what this beer was but it was yummy.

Okay, this was my fav brewery, but the group was not a fan.  Servaes brewery was a cute little brewery in Shawnee Kansas.  I had a cream ale that was delightful.  I loved the space and the vibe as it was FULL of families just having a great time drinking amazing beer.  I will be back.

Just brewery hopping and passing the KC wheel.  Will I ever get in it, NOPE, but it's cool to see.

We started at Crane brewery, which is right off of a huge biking and running trail.  I would totally love to have something like this locally.  If they would hurry up and build all of these trail systems they keep talking about, maybe we could do just that.  The red beer was a sour and it was AMAZING!

My sweet baby angel is leaving me.  She got into vet school again and is leaving at the end of March.  She has made life so much fun lately and I will miss her dearly.  I am going to go visit her at some point when she is down there.  I am excited for her but also sad to see her go.  She has been a great teammate in research and I have enjoyed watching her grow as a scientist.

Heading to the slaughter house at sun rise.  I love these flint hills with the sun rising.

Team building at work.  I had two engineers on my team, so we totally kicked butt (not everyone followed instructions so ignore the tower in the foreground as we won).

Huh, what?  I don't think I had good sleep at all last week, but okay Garmin.

Have a great week y'all (especially since it's almost half way done).

How bout them CHIEFS!

Frustration.  That may be the theme of the week.  Ultimately that is okay because some weeks we need that in our life to really truly appreciate the other things that are good in our life.

Let's focus on the good stuff shall we?

Roses from my hubby!  I love them so much.  He is so good at finding the perfect arrangements.  He also has expressed some interest in doing flower arranging and I think that would be a great stress reliever for him.

Celebrating red kingdom!  If you haven't heard, there was a very tragic shooting at the parade.  One mother of two who came to celebrate didn't go home.  My heart breaks for her family.  At typing this I think both Taylor and Travis were sending her family financial support and Mahomes and others were visiting the kids in the hospital that got caught in the middle.  From news reports it sounds like it was a dispute between a few in the middle of a crowd that caused major chaos and injuries. I am not sure what the answer is to this type of situation but I do think it's curious that in other countries, this isn't an issue.  What are they doing that we aren't???

Two work out classes down again!  This was after a particularly hard work out that we SLAYED!  Why does my sweet baby angel look so amazing post work out and I look like I am dying LOL!

Running was decent this week too.  One run in shorts and one run in full winter gear.  Go figure!  My tulips are even coming up.  In February!

I will end on these pictures.  We finally got to do our tour that I bought Tony for Christmas of Arrowhead.  While it was suppose to be a private tour, our guide didn't show up so we went with the public tour which was totally fine.  We also got hats and a full refund, which they totally didn't need to do but it was greatly appreciated.  Prior to our tour we had some world famous BBQ and some very famous KC ice cream as well.  It was an amazing day with the family and I didn't want it to end.

Taylor's suite and chair.  How magical that I was the one sitting in it and didn't even know!

Have a great week y'all!

Stuff and more stuff

I ran. I worked out.  I ate good food and had great beer.  I volunteered at the local girl's wrestling tournament even though I don't have a girl.  It's what I do.  I love giving back.  Service is my love language.  Enjoy a few photos.

The best damn tournament director out there and her two daughters.

Coach Block who is Andrew's favorite, talking to his daughter before her first match.

This is why I love girl's sports.  They may try to kill each other on the mat, but they still are each other's biggest cheerleaders off the mat.

How bout them CHIEFS!  We are going on a private tour of the stadium next weekend and I can't wait!

Monday is going to hurt.  Who cares, WE ARE THE CHAMPS BABY!

New shirts for a full month of work outs!

Winery + fire pit + cute Weiner dog = perfect Friday night.

Side eye on point.

That is the most beautiful MRI I have ever seen!

Have a great week y'all!

Still sad

What did I learn this week?  Surround yourself with amazing people.  I am so very blessed to have some wonderful people in my corner.  To have shoulders to cry on.  To have people to listen to me as I process some big feelings.  I was sad and mad this week.  I was not happy and dreading the funeral of my friend Jerry.  I am an easy crier if that makes sense and when I get going, I can't stop.  I'm serious, I am full of snot and sobs and I don't want to ruin someone's funeral because I am in the corner sobbing.  We were asked to sit with the family and I tried to cry quietly, but it was such an amazing funeral that showcased how much Jerry was loved that I just couldn't.  We were all moved to hear so many stand up and talk about how amazing he was.  I am still grieving and will continue for some time but here are some pictures from the after party because yes, he would have wanted us to drink and celebrate his life.  We did a shot of Jerry's favorite whiskey and just sat and talked over some amazing beers.  Great friends, all together, one big family.

There was running.  There was working out.  There was even a Taylor Swift party.  That doesn't matter this week.  What matters is celebrating the life of one amazing man.  Maybe next week I can get back to writing about other things.

If you know you know.  RIP Jerry.

Have a great week y'all.
